In 2006, Mr. Wilkins moved into the home automation space. Since then, he has worked with multiple control systems and projects varying from luxuriously appointed hunting cabins to beachfront estates. Carl Mason
Chief Operating Officer
Carl quite literally grew up in senior living. From the time he could walk, he was running through assisted living communities under construction, tagging along as the senior Mason developed new buildings. From building elaborate train displays in common areas to rewiring speakers, integration and low-voltage electrical projects have been part of Carl’s entrepreneurial and creative DNA from the very beginning.
After graduating from George Fox University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, Carl served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Canby High School in Canby, Oregon. He still enjoys using his degree as a personal trainer, helping friends and family stay healthy and active.
In the summer of 2014, he joined Senior Housing Managers as an Operations Analyst and became a certified assisted living administrator shortly thereafter. In 2019, he was nominated by the State of Oregon to participate in the prestigious year-long AHCA/NCAL Future Leaders Program, which further accelerated his leadership growth in long-term care.
After five years overseeing operations, Carl was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Senior Housing Managers in 2021. He remains actively involved in industry leadership through the OHCA Legal Committee, the ALF/RCF Council, the Independent Owners Council, and NCAL’s Policy & Finance Committee.
When he’s not on the road visiting communities or keeping operations running smoothly for Senior Housing Managers and Integration Engineers, Carl, his wife, and their energetic golden retriever and German shepherd can usually be found outdoors—hiking, camping, and enjoying every adventure the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
